Govt forms probe committee

KATHMANDU, Feb 28: The government has formed a probe panel to investigate Wednesday’s helicopter crash that killed seven persons including Tourism Minister Rabindra Adhikari in Taplejung.

KATHMANDU, Feb 28: The government has formed a probe panel to investigate Wednesday’s helicopter crash that killed seven persons including Tourism Minister Rabindra Adhikari in Taplejung. 



An emergency meeting of the cabinet also announced public holiday for Thursday and decided to accord national honor to the deceased minister, said Minister for Urban Development, Istiyak Rayi.

The probe panel is led by former tourism secretary Yagya Prasad Gautam. Former director general of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Gautam, had also headed the probe on the US-Bangla air crash at Tribhuvan International Airport last year.


The cabinet has also decided to fly the national flags at all government offices and its missions abroad at half mast. According to Minister Rayi, Minister Adhikari will be cremated with state honor at Pashupati Aryaghat on Thursday.
