KATHMANDU, Feb 10: Visiting Harvest Himalayan Sherpa Club registered a thumping 4-0 win over home team Udaypur XI on Friday to book semifinal spot of the Fourth Rumpum Udaypur Gold Cup 2073 football tournament.
In the match played at Tharuhat Udaypur Stadium in Gaighat, the A Division outfit Himalayan Sherpa opened scoring as early as in the 11th minute. Suraj Hamal netted the opener. Ramu Thapa restored parity for the home team in the 22nd minute but Himalyan Sherpa added three more goals.
Heman Gurung's strike five minutes before break restored Himalayan Sherpa's one-goal lead. The ball entered the net changing its course after deflecting off home team's Laxmi Panjiyar.
African recruit Mousa Kamagate made it 3-1 for Himalayan Sherpa in the 79th minute.
Biswas Shrestha sealed the comprehensive victory three minutes later with the fourth goal.
Biswas was later declared the man-of-the-match and rewarded Rs 5,000 for his feat.
A Division outfit Armed Police Force will take on Morang XI on Saturday.
