The council's registration records up to the year 2020/21 show there are 744 dailies published across the country. Kathmandu is the district with the highest number of registered newspapers. By the fiscal year 2020/21, two thousand newspapers have been registered in Kathmandu. Parsa is the second district after Kathmandu in terms of the number of registered newspapers.

The report stated that not all registered newspapers are published regularly. Statistics shows that the publication of the newspaper has been delayed due to various reasons after the lockdown was issued across the country due to the coronavirus pandemic.
