Voices of the opposition should be heard in the parliament: Mahesh Basnet

KATHMANDU, Sept 27: The CPN-UML lawmaker Mahesh Basnet said that the parliament should listen to the voices of the opposition party.

KATHMANDU, Sept 27: The CPN-UML Lawmaker Mahesh Basnet said that the parliament should listen to the voices of the opposition party. 



Talking to media persons after the parliament meeting on Monday, Basnet said that the same party will not always be the opposition and the ruling party should keep in mind that their party will also be in the opposition tomorrow.

Basnet said that the act of taking actions against lawmakers under the direction of one party and not acting under the direction of another is totally unacceptable. He also suggested that it is the duty of the speaker to represent all lawmakers even though he is from a different party. He said that the obstructions in the HoR meeting will continue unless the issues raised by the UML are addressed.
